Financial Advisor Experience

People and problem-solving, are what Joe enjoys. With over 22 years of finance and banking experience, he has come to realize that the best thing you can do for someone is help them – no matter the need. So, while he enjoys helping create capital and investment strategies for individual and business clients, what he really enjoys is being a resource for his clients, prospects and network. Prior to joining Raymond James, Joe served as a Senior Vice President at Bank of Colorado, Senior Vice President of Middle Market Banking at RBC Bank, Vice President of Commercial Banking and Private Banking at Sun Trust Bank. In his Private Banking role, he worked closely with the Trust and Securities departments providing business owners, professional service firms and high wealth professionals with financial planning and capital advice. In all, Joe brings 22 years of comprehensive and diverse experience providing financial solutions. Joe is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He earned a Business Administration degree from Western State College of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. He moved to Durango in 2009 when his wife joined the Fort Lewis College, School of Business, faculty as a professor of strategic management. Joe and his wife, Mika, are proud parents of twin 15-year-old boys. In their free time they enjoy alpine skiing, hiking and biking in the surrounding San Juan mountains. Joe has been active in numerous community organizations throughout his career. Here in Durango, Colorado he has held board leadership positions with the United Way of Southwest Colorado, the Durango Arts Center, the Durango 9-R School Board and is a founding member and former President of the Arc of Southwest Colorado.
