Eric Amzalag is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and member of the Financial Planning Association. Serving clients at Peak Financial Planning in Canoga Park, CA and the surrounding communities.
Hi - I'm Eric Amzalag CFP®, founder of Peak Financial Planning.
While studying Economics and Accounting at University of California, Santa Barbara, I knew I wanted a career of service to others.
I didn't know what form that would take and began my search.
I walked several paths including real estate brokerage, marketing, and the family business but none of them scratched the itch that I had to be a facilitator and educator.
I began apprenticing as a formal financial planner and investment advisor at Ameriprise Financial. The experience did not last long - I had a conflict of values with the incentive model of appearing to provide financial advice when in actuality trying to sell insurance policies. I decided to leave the brokerage and insurance world to launch Peak Financial Planning.
I look forward to providing value and being of service to you and your household.

Peak Financial Planning is a Fee-Only Fiduciary Financial Planning and investment management firm in Woodland Hills, California.
There are two universal goals when it comes to retirement planning.
Success in achieving those goals requires careful planning and sacrifice.
We liken the financial and retirement planning process to the process of losing weight.
There are two phases of diet planning – both are required in order to maintain weight loss. The first phase is the diet that helps you lose the weight. You execute that diet until your weight goal is met at which point you switch to phase two – the diet that helps you maintain your new healthy weight.
With financial planning it is much the same. The first phase of a financial plan is accumulating. That phase is maintained until our target net worth or timeframe is met at which point, we switch to phase two – distribution.
The accumulation and distribution phases of your financial life will require different skills, sacrifices, behaviors, and mental models.
It is our belief that this is the purpose of a great financial advisor or financial planner.
If you’d like assistance in breaking the complex problem of preparing for financial independence or retirement down into a simple actionable process, we'd love to be of service.
