Truly Prosper Financial Planning uses a life-centered approach to retirement planning. We believe that our life-centered planning approach leads to greater success and fulfillment in retirement.

Our financial planning philosophy is centered around:

Fair pricing: The fee you pay should be based on the service you receive, not on the size of your portfolio. Since all of our ongoing retiree clients receive the same level of service, they pay the same flat fee, regardless of their asset size.

Passive (Index) Investing: Passive investing (using low-cost index investments) is superior to traditional active investment management (trying to pick the winning companies). Passive investments minimize investing costs and deliver investors their share of market returns.

Different Service Options: While we offer a flat-fee financial planning and investment management service, not everyone wants someone else to manage their investments. We also provide financial planning and retirement planning to do-it-yourself investors.

Financial Advisor Experience

Brian Tegtmeyer is an Ohio fee-only financial planner with over a decade of financial planning experience. He has a passion for helping people make a smart transition to retirement. As a fee-only financial planner, Brian provides comprehensive and objective financial life planning to help clients over 50 organize, grow and protect their assets as they transition to retirement. As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Brian Tegtmeyer is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

Before starting Truly Prosper, Brian worked for over ten years at a fee-only wealth management firm in Cincinnati, OH. He was able to gain valuable experience developing detailed retirement plans, tax projections, and social security strategies for high-net-worth clients. He enjoyed the work and appreciated his time there, but he felt called to create a different kind of financial planning business. In 2020, Truly Prosper was founded on the beliefs that: (1) Financial Life Planning can help people live the best life possible with the money they have; (2) Retirement planning should be available to all people, not just the wealthy; (3) Pricing should be based on the services received and not the size of your investment portfolio; and (4) retirees are better served by an advisor specializing in retirement planning.
